GPS Time and Test

This software program is designed to synchronize a PC clock to the precise time using artificial satellites. It provides an alternative solution to synchronizing with atomic clocks via NTP (SNTP) and the internet. The program is highly versatile and can work in either interactive or background mode.

This program utilizes the NMEA protocol and explores $GPZDA, $ZQZDA, or $GPRMC protocol sentences as a time source. It also serves as an effective NMEA and COM port tester - outputting a port receiving buffer, extracting all NMEA sentences and counting check sum errors. The default protocol version for this software is NMEA 0183.

To use this program, a GPS (Global Positioning System) unit must be connected to the PC's COM port.
