GtkOrphan

GtkOrphan is a Perl/Gtk2 application designed for Debian systems that provides a graphical interface for analyzing the status of your installation and identifying orphaned libraries. The application is built as a front-end for deborphan and comes equipped with a package-removal capability.

To use GtkOrphan, you must have gksu, perl, deborphan (version 1.7.17 or higher), libgtk2-perl (version 1.100-1 or higher), libglib-perl (version 1.100-1 or higher), liblocale-gettext-perl, and libgtk2-gladexml-perl installed on your system.

To install GtkOrphan, simply extract the contents of the tar archive file to your desired location using the following command:

tar -xvzf gtkorphan-0.1.0.tar.gz

Once extracted, navigate to the extracted directory using the following command:

cd gtkorphan-0.1.0

Then, configure the package with the prefix /usr using the following command:

./configure --prefix=/usr

Next, compile and install the package by running the following commands:

make
make install

In the latest release of GtkOrphan, the application has switched from gksudo to gksu, and three new translations (Swedish, Dutch, and Vietnamese) have been added. Overall, GtkOrphan is a useful tool for Debian systems that enhances your package management capabilities.
