This software is integrated with Windows Explorer, adding extra pages to the Properties sheet for executable files. It allows users to troubleshoot loading issues, inspect necessary DLLs, and view program sections.

InspectExe comes with a plethora of useful features. For instance, it can display all import and export functions of an executable file (.EXE, .OCX or .DLL). You can also select additional file extensions on installation. The software shows function definition for decorated (mangled) function names.
Furthermore, InspectExe can display all the Windows PE sections contained in an executable file. It also shows executable manifests and CLR headers. The tool can display extended version information not shown on the Version Properties tab.
InspectExe also displays exported symbols from library files (.LIB). The software works for both 64bit and 32bit executable files. It can list all the resources contained in the executable and display all resource strings.
You can also use InspectExe to check whether the module can be loaded without executing it. This will verify that all dependent DLLs are available. Additionally, InspectExe can compare executables and using computed checksum spots differences between different versions of files.
InspectExe runs on various Windows operating systems, including Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2000, XP, and Vista. An enhanced version of this utility is available for purchase. This allows dialogs, bitmap, icon, cursor, and accelerator resources to be previewed from within Explorer, and to copy bitmap, icons, and cursors to the clipboard.
