USB fingerprint scanners capture fingerprint images and plug into the USB port on a PC. A legacy driver is required to enable communication with the scanner and use in applications.

To use a Hamster IV or Hamster Plus scanner with your application, you'll need to install a legacy driver. This driver is what allows the scanner to communicate with your computer, and it's easy to install by simply plugging in the device to your USB port. Keep in mind, though, that if you're using Windows 7 or later, there's a chance that the legacy driver may be overwritten by the Windows Biometric Framework (WBF) driver during an update.
To avoid this issue, it's a good idea to update the SDK dll. For example, the sgfplib.dll from FDx SDK Pro is an SDK library that can help ensure a smooth and stable interface between the scanner and your application. Once you have everything set up and installed correctly, you'll be able to capture fingerprint images quickly and easily with your Hamster IV or Hamster Plus scanner.
Version 7.1: sgfplib.dll to avoid possible replacement by WBF Driver.
