Mikmod is a versatile module player and library that supports numerous formats, including mod, s3m, it, and xm. Originally used as a player exclusively for MS-DOS, developers have since added support for Unix, Macintosh, BeOS, and Java.
The main contributors to Mikmod are Jean-Paul Mikkers (MikMak), Jake Stine (Air Richter), and Frank Loemker, while Steve McIntyre served as the first Unix maintainer before Peter Amstutz and ultimately Miodrag Vallat. Unfortunately, Vallat has had limited free time to work on the project recently, which has caused release schedules to slow.
In light of this situation, Raphal Assnat has stepped in to work on libmikmod/mikmod. His goal is to add new features and help the project continue to develop and thrive.
