mediadbs is a flexible database system designed for tracking and searching electronic media in a local network. The aim of the project is to produce a database system that can handle multiple forms of electronic media such as mp3, divx, and ogg files distributed on various servers.
At the moment, mediadbs solely supports mp3 files. To begin using the software, you must meet certain requirements such as having an Apache web server with mod_php 3, PHP 3, MySQL, Perl 5.005 or later (earlier versions may work too), DBI perl module and MP3::Info perl module installed.
The newest release of mediadbs comes with several improvements. The software has been divided into multiple scripts for optimized performance. Bug fixes have also been made with updatedb, providing users with a seamless experience with the software.
