Another great feature is the incorporation of PostgreSQL as its database backend, with an extensible architecture that makes it easy to add new devices and monitoring abilities.
OSSMON is designed to monitor network devices and generate alerts when there is a problem or when a device becomes inaccessible. The alert rules can be defined depending on variables from the database or when received from remote devices. It comes embedded with predefined rules which cater to some of the most common network alerts.
One highlight of the software is its integration with OSSWEB Tasks/Problem system, allowing for easy tracking of OSSMON alerts like trouble tickets. This facilitates efficient resolution of issues.
