I recently had the pleasure of reading Mr. Heise's book on hypnosis and self-hypnosis and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with his approach, understanding, and ethical presentation. In fact, I was so impressed that I offered to add a few introductory words as a physician specializing in psychiatry.

As I delved into the book, I realized that the author was teaching readers how to use hypnosis and self-hypnosis techniques to change deep-rooted habits. He assures readers that this method is painless and safe, however some may still hesitate to apply the author's suggestions. That's why I want to reassure readers that the techniques taught in this book are both safe and sound.

I do want to touch on the topic of unethical uses of hypnosis, but as far as the material presented in this book goes, readers can feel at ease. The methods taught are standard and orthodox, offering an excellent path for achieving desired goals.

In my experience as a physician, I'm often asked whether smoking a certain number of cigarettes per day is harmful. People seem to seek a standard measurement, believing that if they exceed it, that would be bad, but if they smoke fewer than the standard, that would be all right.
