PCLTool SDK enables conversion of PCL files to BMP, EMF, JPG, PCX, PDF Raster, PDF Vector, PMF, PNG, PWG, PCLm, TIF, and WMF formats. It supports HP's PCLm printer language and IEEE's PWG format.

In addition to its font rasterization capabilities, PCLTool SDK also includes a powerful search function that allows you to search multi-page PCL print files for up to three text strings. The results of this search are compiled into a hit list that shows all the pages containing the searched text. From there, you can select which PCL pages to extract, view, and/or print. PCLTool SDK can even generate an index of the text extracted from fixed field locations on the PCL page.
To make it easy to get started with PCLTool SDK, the software comes with a sample application program called PCLTool.exe. This program is designed to exercise all of the functions of both DLLs that are provided with PCLTool SDK. Specifically, the PTC32.dll is responsible for converting the source PCL file into the target file format and creating a placeable and device-independent file. On the other hand, the PTV32.dll is able to preview the converted file on the screen or print it to the current Windows printer driver.
Overall, PCLTool SDK is an incredibly versatile and powerful tool that will make your PCL file conversions and searches much simpler and efficient. Its internal font engine, search functionality, and sample program make it an excellent choice for anyone dealing with PCL files on a regular basis.
Version 15.0: PCLTool SDK V15 offers many new features and functions including a new text extraction method that can unscramble Chinese and other double-byte print streams back into legible Unicode or UTF-8 text.
