PDGREPPE and FGREPPE are pattern matching tools, while NLX converts newlines to PC format and STRINGS extracts text from files. HEAD displays file data, and there are various options available.

The package features two distinct software modules: PDGREPPE and FGREPPE, with each offering a unique set of capabilities. Both employ Command Line Interfaces that can be selectively customized to cater to specific data demands, international text bytes, data logging, default directories, environment variables, and many other extended command line files.
Additionally, both modules support interactive and automatic file editing modes with perfect flexibility to preserve the file-sharing properties, and can handle any file type, including DOS 8.3 or IFS Long File Names.
The software modules come with a menu-driven user interface that provides access to a comprehensive range of features. These features include options for file search, view, replace, miscellaneous and help, with PDGREPPE having additional menu options for pattern definitions. Furthermore, the PDGREPPE module supports extended regular expression search methods, while FGREPPE uses fixed pattern algorithms, reminiscent of UNIX FGREP.
With NLX, users can quickly convert text files from UNIX or Apple MAC format into MS-DOS-compatible ones, while the STRINGS feature enables users to extract sequences of text characters from binary files in a more convenient way. HEAD, on the other hand, is another great feature that extracts the front, middle, or end section of files as desired.
The software package is easy to navigate, and features screen paging, line wrapping, highlight match areas, recursive descent into file systems, multiple drive specifications, and many other options, all detailed within the online documentation file README.EXE or the WWW online reference guide.
