Pictoscope is an excellent software program that enables you to enjoy your digital images in multiple comfortable ways. It has a variety of display options to suit your preferences. Firstly, it can display images in Normal mode, where the image is shown in a window with borders and clip controls. If the image fits on the screen, it is displayed in its original format. However, if it is larger than the screen, Pictoscope automatically resizes it to fit to the maximum size possible. You have the option to crop or resize the image by dragging the borders or the image itself. Besides, you can hide the borders and even set the image in a slow and random motion. The cropped or resized image can be saved in JPEG format with selectable quality level. Additionally, you can save it with the original resolution or with the resolution seen on the screen.

Pictoscope allows you to suspend a slide show, quit the program, and resume the show another time from the point of suspension, making it particularly useful when viewing shows with hundreds of pictures. Furthermore, slide show scripts can be created automatically with a key stroke from the normal view of any picture and include all pictures in the same folder and, optionally, even those contained in all subfolders.

The program also supports Thumbnail display where you can search for pictures based on character strings found in image file names contained in a folder or folder tree. The software enables you to run slide shows or thumbnails with the search results seamlessly.
