Resample is a compact commandline program designed to convert sample rates and play audio files.
The small commandline application called resample is designed for both samplerate conversion and playback of audio data. The application utilizes a 16 bit fix-point MMX optimized polyphase filterbank, optimizing it for almost any processor and allowing it to run in real-time. What's more, resample is processor independent but requires Linux open sound system (OSS) to run.
resample processes its input from standard input and delivers the resampled sound to the soundcard. The software provides an option to convert from any samplerate to any other samplerate, supporting up to 6 channels. For the list of options, type "resample --help".
Although resample is optimized for converting from 44.1kHz to 48kHz, it can still handle other similar combinations. However, this may result in a small frequency offset.
