I have recently had the opportunity to use RS-232 Spy, a software that controls all traffic going through my computer COM port. The software shows all traffic as memory dump, which allows me to easily analyze data. Even better, in the full version, data can be highlighted according to pre-set masks.
I was pleased to find that the program is very easy to manage and use. The user interface is straightforward and intuitive, making it easy even for those who are not particularly tech-savvy to operate.
However, it is worth noting that at the time of writing this review, RS-232 Spy is only available in alpha version. As such, it does not have all the functionality that will be available in the final release. Nevertheless, this version is still useful for research purposes. The developer wants to know what users need and want so that they can complement the program with new features.
