I recently came across a free software that has been extremely beneficial to me, it recursively searches for duplicate files in folders on my Windows 10 computer.
This software is incredibly user-friendly, requiring just one drag and drop operation to complete the task. It is by far the easiest duplicate file searcher and deleter I have ever used.
With this software, I have been able to effortlessly find and remove duplicate photos in a directory as well as search for and delete repeated music and video files from my computer, all free of charge. The software has also been enormously helpful in searching for and deleting duplicate document files in my Windows 10 folders.
One cool feature of this software is that if I select the folder "C:\my-folder", it automatically saves the path of the duplicate file to "C:\zz_my-folder.txt".
Additionally, if I want to remove all the duplicate files from a specific folder, I just need to save their paths to the "C:\zz_remove-my-folder.txt" file and import it into the duplicate file deleter. The software will quickly and efficiently delete all the files listed in the text file.
Moreover, the removal program is designed to check if the text file name starts with "zz_remove". This ensures that I don't accidentally delete any important files.
