SkullyDoo is a free and easy-to-use software that enables 3D image segmentation and visualization through surface modeling. This open-source program is also portable, allowing for convenient access on any device.
The software is compatible with several image formats, and DICOM support is also available. SkullyDoo provides an interactive, 3D environment for visualization through the VTK visualization framework. It also delivers an interface, which is uniform in nature, to facilitate 3D image segmentation irrespective of the method used, achieving this goal through object-oriented techniques and C++ programming.
The software also delivers a user-friendly interface (GUI) made using FLTK for GUI construction. The software also has acceptable response times for algorithm execution and visualization tasks. The team resolved this by using C++ and VTK solutions. Moreover, the software's portability across different platforms was ensured by implementing it in ANSI-C++ and using a portable configuration management scheme like CMake. Additionally, data structures were also programmed using the STL (Standard Template Library).
The latest version of SkullyDoo, which is now available in both English and other languages, is a seamless and portable software tool that delivers interactive, easy-to-use, and efficient 3D image segmentation and visualization tools.
