Tensai

Tensai is a Japanese language tool specifically designed for English native speakers who are looking to learn the language. It provides maximum readability and efficiency, making studying less stressful and more engaging. With Tensai, users can easily search for kanji, readings, and meanings of words, phrases, and individual characters in both Japanese and English. These searches can be done quickly and efficiently. Users can also create vocabulary lists with the entries they find so they can keep them handy for future reference.

Tensai leverages the JMdict and KANJIDIC2 free dictionary files, which are compiled and maintained by the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group at Monash University in Australia. These files are free for public use, provided everyone knows who to thank for all the hard work put into maintaining them.

Tensai's key features include an uncluttered interface, elegantly formatted results sorted by relevance, mixed language searches, prefix, suffix, substring, and whole word matching, intelligent entry and reading grouping, user-createable vocabulary lists, and unlimited results. However, there is a limitation of only 10 entries per vocabulary list.
