The Epeios XML preprocessor

The Epeios XML preprocessor (expp) is a software tool designed to transform one XML file to another XML file using tags that belong to a specific namespace. The default namespace is xpp, but the user has the option to modify it. These tags enable users to execute macros, assign values to variables, test variable values, and include files among other things. In essence, expp is to XML what cpp is to C/C++.

This tool relies entirely on system and C/C++ standard libraries, and comes with its own XML parser. Therefore, users need not install additional packages for it to work correctly. Moreover, expp serves a dual purpose. It's not just an efficient way to transform XML files, but it can also be used as a testing tool for the Epeios XML library. Additionally, it serves as a working example to demonstrate how the Epeios library operates.

The convenience of this tool is compounded by the fact that the Windows binary comes packed in the same package. To obtain the Linux binary or the Cygwin binary, the user only needs to unpack the package and launch the make command.

In the latest release, expp has resolved a file localization bug in the XML error detection algorithm. This bug takes effect when there are included files in subdirectories.
