TINA is open source software designed to speed up image analysis research.
TINA is a highly effective open source environment developed specifically to expedite the research process for image analysis. This software provides extensive functionality to assist in all facets of image analysis, including image feature and geometrical data handling, statistical and numerical analysis of data, GUI development, as well as transmission and containment of data.
Furthermore, TINA delivers a comprehensive range of high-level analysis techniques for both medical image analysis (such as blood flow analysis and MR tissue segmentation) and machine vision (such as temporal-stereo depth estimation and 2D object recognition). To make things even better, thanks to the amazing capabilities of KNOPPIX, you can now have the experience of using TINA without installing any software.
By simply inserting the CD into any (reasonably modern) PC and rebooting, you gain access to TINA. However, please ensure that your PC can boot from the CD drive. If your Windows starts up, reboot again and proceed to check your bios settings (with the prompt to press DEL during startup). You will need to check the boot devices with the first preferably being the floppy drive, the second being the CD drive, and the third being the hard drive (with a potential fourth option of booting from a network device).
To gain more insights, you can consult your motherboard manual for detailed instructions. The KNOPPIX CD includes a live Linux distribution based on Debian, accompanied by a KDE 3 desktop. The TINA libraries are located in /usr/local/TINA5, with some TINA demos located in /usr/local/Tina5/tina-tools/toolkits/knoppix_tookit. The demos are easily accessible through the desktop icons.
