Unknown Horizons

Unknown Horizons, formerly known as OpenAnno, is an open-source strategy game that is still in development. However, a tech demo is available for players to experience. The game will be compatible with Windows, Linux, and MacOSX. The project is still searching for talented artists and programmers to aid in the development process.

One notable feature of the game is its keyboard shortcuts. Players can use "o" to access options, "s" to save, and "p" to set the start position for the main ship. Additionally, the "TAB" key allows players to switch between terrain and vegetation while the mouse wheel can be used to choose a new tile from either category. "q" and "b" can be used to exit the game without saving progress, and left-clicking places terrain or vegetation while right-clicking removes them.

The game also includes command line parameters. Players can specify the filename for loading and saving with the "-name" parameter, and specify the number of columns and rows in the map with the "-cols" and "-rows" parameters, respectively. Config variables can also be set with the "+seta [cvar] [value]" parameter.

Overall, Unknown Horizons shows promise as a strategy game worth keeping an eye on as it continues to evolve and improve.
