WebWarper is a free software that accelerates access to websites, provides antivirus protection, anonymity and saves traffic up to 3 times. It saves up to 10 times in the super-dense mode.

This software achieves traffic saving by compressing web-pages before sending them to the browser, using the gzip standard. Pages appear unchanged after compression, and the overall traffic (including graphics) is usually compressed by a factor of 1.5-3. A "super-dense" mode is also available if users are willing to sacrifice some appearance and simplify page appearance but save traffic in 10 times or more.
WebWarper also includes antivirus protection, which automatically removes all ActiveX modules, as they can be used to infect computers via the web. The only exception is the well-known and safe Macromedia Flash module.
Using this service is as simple as modifying the browser's address line. Users don't need to install anything; they just have to add a special prefix " / ww/~av/" to view a site through WebWarper. A special webwarper.exe utility is available to teach Internet Explorer to add this prefix instead of the standard "http://".
Although WebWarper is ad-supported, the authors understand that ads can be unpleasant for users and can reduce service advantages. The good news is that the advertising can be disabled entirely and for free; users simply need to click on the corresponding link in the ad panel. The only downside is that disabling ads is temporary, and in the current version, they will be turned on after 18 hours.
Regular users will only see ads once a day, and they can disable them immediately after opening WebWarper. Furthermore, users can purchase a registration code for USD 8.90, which allows them to disable ads for a year. Overall, WebWarper is very useful software that can save users time, money, and protect them while browsing the web.
