WinNc is a Windows XP software that replicates the functions of Norton Commander.

One great feature of WinNc is its seamless and direct access to servers, network neighborhoods, and other network computers. These features are available in the double-pane interface, and each pane can be configured independently. Beyond basic file-management functions like formatting, copying, moving, deleting, and editing files, this software allows you to navigate inside compressed files as if they were directories. This feature, coupled with its ability to split, encrypt, and FTP files, make WinNc a great tool for managing compressed files.
WinNc is also versatile in handling different file formats such as JPEG, GIF, BMP, TGA, WMF, PCX, WAV, FLC, DOCS, XLS, HTML, MID, and AVI files. With WinNc, you can do more than just view these files. It allows you to extract WAV files from MP3 files, rip audio CDs to MP3, and convert WAV to MP3.
To make the product more accessible to the public, the WinNc Professional edition is available as a shareware and can be downloaded and distributed from the Dunes MultiMedia website for free. However, registering comes at a reasonable cost of $20 for a single-user license. WinNc is also available in different languages including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Czech, Romanian, and Polish. Overall, WinNc 3000 is an excellent software for file management that provides a wealth of features without compromising ease of use.
