Workaholic

Workaholic is a unique software designed to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance. The software works by displaying a transparent window with a progress bar, reminding you to take a break after a period of time. You have the option to skip rests or postpone them for 5 or 10 minutes, making it flexible to your schedule.

To use Workaholic, you need to have the GTK+ version 2.10.x installed on your computer. If you are using Debian, Ubuntu, or another distro with deb packages, you can either download the deb package and double-click to install, or add the repository to your sources.list file. After updating the package list, you can install Workaholic using the terminal command "sudo aptitude install workaholic." If you use a different distribution, you can download the tar.gz file and install it using the command "make install," with root privileges.

Uninstalling Workaholic is as easy as running "aptitude purge workaholic" as root for deb package installations, or running "make uninstall" for tar.gz file installations.

To use Workaholic, simply run the program from Applications -> Accessories -> Workaholic, and it will sit on your systray waiting for an hour before reminding you to take a break.

In the latest Workaholic release, new features have been added, including added python-imaging dependency, a preferences dialog box, options to choose the time and duration of breaks, and options to choose custom sound effects.
