XEmacs

Originally named Lucid Emacs, it is based on an early version of GNU Emacs 19 from the Free Software Foundation. Since then, it has been continuously updated to keep pace with the latest versions of this product.

XEmacs is the result of a collaboration between Lucid, Inc., Sun Microsystems, Inc., and the University of Illinois. Additionally, Amdahl Corporation, INS Engineering Corporation, and countless volunteers have provided additional support for this project.
