I recently had the opportunity to review the Free Business Software, which was first established in 1989. The software offers free modules that can assist various businesses, including general contractors, sub-contractors, and owner builders. Overall, the software is quite impressive and efficient in its tasks.

Firstly, the TAKE-OFF and MEASURING module helps users view and takeoff PDF plans and CAD output files with speed and accuracy. The module allows construction estimators and project managers to calculate materials, count objects, measure straight lengths and areas, and volumes. It sets an industry standard in plan viewing and advanced takeoff software.

Secondly, the ESTIMATING module can prepare detailed bill of materials/abstract estimates. It includes material and labor estimates for both residential and low-rise commercial buildings. By using this module, users can also prepare tenders, variations, cost abstracts, labor/contractor's bills, generate and approve selected purchase orders for their business.

Thirdly, the JOBS MANAGEMENT module has exciting features such as job progress, customer records management, document library, share documents, mail merged standard letters, progress claim updating, and job cash book entries.

Lastly, the software offers a PROJECT MANAGEMENT and AUTOMATION - Premium Modules package. These modules are free until the end of 2020, and afterward, users can avail them for AU$59.95/US$49.95 per month per job. For additional users, the cost is $100 per user per annum. The package includes project management, which allows you to keep track of all tasks, including task descriptions, automatically recalculate start and end dates based on prerequisite tasks completions, viewed completed and incomplete tasks.

This software is ideal for HEAD/GENERAL CONTRACTORS, SUB-CONTRACTORS, or OWNERS looking to minimize overheads and improve workflow in their day-to-day construction tasks from the beginning to end of their next project.

Finally, the company is looking for distributors for the multi-user premium version. I would certainly recommend this software to anyone looking for a comprehensive and efficient solution to their business needs.
