DEKSI Modem Pooling (DMP) is a client-server software that enables access to serial (COM) ports on remote computers via TCP/IP network connection. It is feature-rich, powerful, and advanced.
The DMP Client software can create virtual serial ports that look similar to real serial ports for other Windows applications. Any data sent to these virtual ports is transferred to the DMP Server via a TCP/IP network connection. Replies from the real serial port on the server side are then returned back to the DMP Client, making it appear as if the data was sent from a real serial port.
To use DEKSI Modem Pooling on a local area network, users need to run the Client software on their client computers to emulate the serial ports and send all the data from the virtual port to the physical port on the server computer. DEKSI Modem Pooling comprises two components: The Client Component (DMPC.exe) and the Server Component (DMPS.exe).
To get started, users need to download the DMP.ZIP file from the DEKSI website and install the two components on their server and client computer. After installing the components, they should run the DMP Server and create one or more shared ports. Then, users need to run the DMP Client on their client computer and create a virtual serial port (they can refer to the DMP Client help file for more information).
Once everything is set up, users can start any client application on their client computer and access any equipment connected to the serial port on the server computer. Users can connect up to 5 computers to the DMP Server as part of their trial evaluation of DEKSI Modem Pooling software for a period of 30 days.
Overall, DEKSI Modem Pooling is an efficient and cost-effective solution for anyone who needs to access serial ports remotely. The user-friendly software is easy to set up and comes with all the features needed to share serial ports across the network.
