This shareware is a schematic editor that lets users create and share electronic circuit diagrams on Windows and Linux. It includes a built-in netlister and Bill of Materials generator, and allows for cross-platform transfers.
One of the standout features of this software is the built-in netlister. The netlister checks the schematic for errors such as unconnected pins and wires, ensuring that your schematic is correct. Additionally, double-clicking an output netlist entry in the netlister highlights the wires in the schematic that created the net, allowing you to check that the netlist is correct and providing feedback from the netlister to the schematic.
Unlike an ordinary paint tool, this software adds database information (attributes) to each object, allowing the schematic to be analyzed for errors or for netlisting or generation of the Bill of Materials. For instance, pin data is stored within the schematic database such that the tool can identify component pins. Later, this is used to check that all pins are connected correctly, flagging up error warnings if any pins are left unconnected by accident.
When you select a part, the attributes of that part are immediately displayed in the screen attribute viewer. User attributes can also be added to any library symbol to associate a specific manufacturer with a part. Finally, this information can be output via the Bill of Materials.
This software has a process toolbar that guides you through the design process from start to finish, a main toolbar displaying the most relevant tools for the task, an attribute viewer detailing data associated with the current part, an orthogonal drag that allows fast drawing changes, a library editor for creating and managing single or multipart library elements, a netlister for checking for errors and creating netlists, and a Bill of Materials generator for generating a part list. Overall, it is a great software for anyone looking for an easy-to-use schematic editor.
