The Windows TWAIN SDK ActiveX allows users to easily acquire images from TWAIN compatible scanners and webcams to scan pages into PDF and TIF files.
Furthermore, the software can capture images from all TWAIN compliant scanner and webcam devices and save scanned images to Microsoft Word (docx). It also supports page panning with the mouse and scrolling by grabbing the page with the left mouse button.
Additionally, this software can adjust the scanner image resolution (DPI), adjust the scanner capture area, and enable/disable ADF feeder and duplex scanning. It can read 1D and 2D barcodes in images, supporting a variety of barcode types.
Useful features of this software include blank page detection, the ability to get the confidence value of a specific page, and support for using JPEG compression and adjusting quality when saving a PDF/A file. Besides, it can perform optical character recognition (OCR) on scanned images to create a multipage searchable PDF/A, memory text, or text file.
The software also supports more than 50 languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, Indonesian, Hebrew, Russian, Korean, Polish, Thai, Vietnamese, and allows users to perform OCR on an entire page or specific areas of a page with select fast, normal, excellent Recognition mode and character set and language dictionary selection.
Finally, users can take advantage of the example code for various programming languages such as Delphi, C# 2019, C# 2015, C# 2010, Access, VB.Net 2019, VB.Net 2015, VB.Net 2010, Visual Basic, Visual C, and Visual FoxPro included with the software.
