This tool enables users to view the total size of multiple folders on a drive simultaneously. It eliminates the need for repeated right-clicking to compare folder sizes.
I have been exploring the Folder Size Calculator software since the year 2004 when I finished my course at CDI College. During that time, I was constantly downloading movies and programs which led me to run out of hard drive space. Thus, I decided to create a program that could search an entire drive and size each of its folders.
Originally named "Drive Sizer", it was limited to only searching local drives and mapped network folders. I then improved the program to work with any folder and every folder located beneath the original folder. Additionally, I added a size display limiter feature, so only the bigger folders can be shown. I also included the level limiter feature so that users don't have to see every folder under the selected folder.
I then thought that command line functions would be beneficial, so I added them in for automated use. After much development, I launched the newly improved program, now named "Folder Size Calculator". The software works exceptionally well and provides an efficient way to locate files that are taking up significant space.
The interface is user-friendly with no complex features that may cause confusion. It simply serves its purpose by identifying the largest folders on your system. Overall, I have enjoyed using this software and hope that you will find it helpful too.
