The Listening Ear Trainer software helps users improve pitch recognition skills through two methods. The Singing Funnel Method allows for singing with increasing precision, while the Octave Anchor Pitches Method builds a repertoire of notes that increases with each exercise.

The second method available is the Octave Anchor Pitches Method, which does not require you to sing. Here, you learn to distinguish five notes that are an octave apart: C2, C3, C4, C5, and C6. You then begin adding other notes, such as G2, G3, G4, and G5, one by one until you cover all notes.
Both of these methods start with easy exercises that are simple to master. With the computer giving you feedback and tracking your progress, you'll have a systematic approach to help you improve your ability to recognize notes. And if that's not enough, there's also a third method available: the Interval Overtone Method, which specifically trains you to identify intervals. In short, if you're looking to improve your pitch recognition skills, the Listening Ear Trainer is an excellent choice.
