This software tests computer monitors and LCD flat panel screens by displaying a variety of test patterns at different resolutions to assess their quality and performance.

MonitorTest supports multiple monitors testing simultaneously, and it also supports all display types, including CRT, Plasma, and LCD. The looped testing feature allows you to continually test your monitors, while the scripted testing feature provides users with different test patterns with different resolutions and test length.
MonitorTest Version 4.0 includes several new features. Firstly, the main interface of the software has been changed to a more modern style. Additionally, the application logo has been redesigned to bring it out of the dark ages.
Another new feature is support for collecting monitor information from Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) data structure directly from the monitor. This includes interesting data like manufacturer name, serial number, timings, and display size.
There were also some performance issues that have been addressed in this new version. For example, the Moire Interference test rendering was slow on high DPI monitors in the previous version. However, this has been fixed in Version 4.0.
Other updates include:
- Added High Dynamic Range (HDR) and bit depth detection
- Added HDR test for Windows 10 (HDR compatible monitor and graphics card are required)
- Updated to show more information about video adapter
- Converted internal code from ANSI single byte application to Unicode, allowing for foreign languages to be used
- Support for multiple languages in the user interface, including English, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, and Korean
- Minimum O/S requirement is now Windows 7. XP & Vista are no longer supported.
- An install to USB option was added in the user interface
- 64-bit executable is also included (MonitorTest64.exe) into the Program File folder.
Overall, MonitorTest is a powerful tool for those looking to evaluate the quality and performance of their monitors. With these new features, it's even better than before.
