The Nautix project is a 3D realtime strategy game designed for gamers who enjoy commanding Avatars through realistic 3D worlds. It serves as a full-featured Open Source game that comes complete with a 3D view, customizable levels, and a wide variety of items like wood, stone, and gold. In this game, you'll find both realtime strategy and roleplay elements, with Avatars as well as large armies.

The latest release of Nautix features a number of improvements and exciting new additions. The game has been stabilized to provide a "first look" at all its features, and an integrated help browser makes it easy to navigate through the game. Players can now choose and download planets to play on, each with a unique "terraform"ed surface and custom colors. The Connection dialog has been improved and single player mode is now supported.

To ensure reusability of code, NautixGL has been split into NautixGL and NautixGLcore, and the NautixView has been removed. The game now supports sending data, including "avatar moved" or "planet request." Chat has been improved, and selection and feedback now work seamlessly. The first (albeit still buggy) command to Avatars is "move," and multiplayer now allows players to meet their enemies.
