Notably, empegload, an item in the Perl Empeg toolset, is my go-to option for uploading MP3 files. For empegload to work, it is essential that the files it handles possess ID3 tags. Once empegload establishes that the files have ID3 tags, it then uploads them to a directory path in the following format: /artists/$ALPHA_SPLIT/$ARTIST/$ALBUM/$TITLE. It is essential to note that ALPHA_SPLIT is a directory in the A-F range and is determined by the initial letter of the MP3. The software's configurable nature allows users to dictate this particular behavior by modifying the script accordingly.
