This software enables sharing of serial port devices via TCP/IP network, creating an inexpensive terminal server. Access to any device connected to the COM port is available globally.

Virtual serial port technology achieves this behavior as it emulates standard COM ports. Windows OS treats virtual and real serial ports the same way, allowing users to create COM port connections without occupying any real serial ports. This means that the user is no longer limited to two real ports, as any number of physical ports available on the system can be used.
Previously known as VSPD.Net, Serial to Ethernet Connector has a brand new interface and an upgraded engine that offers three different types of connection to remote computers. The first type is port-to-port connection, enabling the emulating of a virtual null-modem cable connection to connect two computers through the TCP/IP network. Serial to Ethernet Connector lets you customize remote serial port settings locally or dynamically fetch these settings from the remote end.
The second type is port-to-TCP client that enables connection to remote servers for the sending and receiving of communication serial data over the TCP/IP network. Once the connection is established, data sent from remote serial port devices attached to the server are genuinely delivered to the local serial port, where it can be further processed.
Finally, the third type is the port-to-TCP server which facilitates multiple connections to local serial port devices and redistributes COM port device data throughout the world. The software includes a server that listens to all incoming connections at the defined TCP port and redirects input/output serial data to TCP/IP networks. Serial to Ethernet Connector is customizable to meet specific demands effectively.
Version 3.0: The start up sequence of the service is changed (now it depends on Plug and Play); Dynamically change communication port parameters; Map your real serial port to any other virtual or real port (up to 255); Fully compatible with Windows 98SE/Me/NT4/2000/XP/2003/64-bit XP/64-bit 2003; Works under virtual machine
