This software simplifies Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger design and rating calculations by providing step-by-step guidance for easy understanding. It uses Shell's calculation method and ensures accuracy and efficiency in computations.

The software performs thermal analysis calculations and some mechanical calculations, including determining unknown flow rates or temperatures, exit temperatures, duty, area, velocities, pressure drops, number of baffles and baffle spacing, number of tubes, scale resistance, cleanliness factor, and overall heat transfer coefficients for both clean and fouled conditions. Users can select different correlations to calculate shell or tube heat transfer coefficients or enter their own coefficients using the database of some common coefficients included.
The software also calculates recommended minimum shell thickness, minimum recommended number and diameter of rods, and shell/nozzle/channel/head/tube sheet thickness. Users can determine number of transfer units, effectiveness, thermal capacity ratio, and pumping power as well as inlet and exit nozzle pressure losses.
One particularly useful feature of this software is the ability to import physical properties to the shell/tube sides from MS Excel or use the included databases, which estimate physical properties of pure components and mixtures for more than 1450 components (separate software included with the full version that supports liquids only). Additionally, the software provides information on tube counts, fouling factors, and more.
Overall, this software is a comprehensive tool for engineers and designers who need to perform detailed calculations for shell and tube heat exchangers with ease and accuracy.
