Ask Oscar is a software that allows users to create branching trees with text, pictures or both. With this software, creating interactive visual displays has never been easier.
As children enter their questions and sort them, they can visually perceive the tree growing. Options are available that allow trees to be tiled over multiple pages to create a massive wall display, or printed continuously as a banner. Note that banner printing requires a printer that supports this feature. To make a database that can be used away from the computer, items can be printed separately from the tree.
Ask Oscar comes with several key features, including the smooth gliding of each item across the screen as the tree is being sorted. Items can also have associated images, while whole groups of items can be quickly added to the tree from a vast range of picture groups, which can also be customized.
As the tree grows, it automatically scrolls to where it is being sorted, thus eliminating any need for manual scrolling. The application encourages many types of learning activities by using its unique features of sorting, finding, and testing. Furthermore, the tree can be viewed at different scales to suit the user's preferences.
Ask Oscar features a configurable on-screen actor that can guide children on how to navigate around the application, offering help and suggestions, and explaining how each button works.
The only limitation of this product is that it is time-limited, with saving and printing disabled, while unregistered. Nevertheless, Ask Oscar remains an excellent software application that facilitates the learning of children by making use of a branching database.
