AutoSampler is a software tool designed to quickly and easily convert audio files into Exs24 instruments. Automate the process of creating high-quality musical instruments with the click of a button.
One of the most impressive features of AutoSampler is its ability to create instruments that switch/fade between keymaps sampled with varying synthesis parameters, as well as instruments sampled from multiple sound sources through vector envelopes. This feature is perfect for reproducing the dynamic nuances of the original sound source, such as physical modeling parameters and special filters, from your master keyboard knobs.
AutoSampler also offers several other exciting features, including multi-sample multi-velocity sampling of MIDI synth patches in an automated unattended way from external synth devices, multidimensional sampling, and MIDI layer sampling mode for advanced sound design. Plus, you can randomize and tweak functions for creating and modifying envelopes.
With AutoSampler, you can create ready-to-play Exs24 instruments without the need to edit anything. Plus, the software supports sampling midified acoustic pianos and noisy sources, as well as providing support for noiseless sustain pedal sampling of midified acoustic pianos. AutoSampler can even sample whole banks of synth patches and imports patch names from normal text files created by cut/paste from SoundDiver.
AutoSampler comes with an integrated virtual keyboard and bidimensional virtual controller pad, and generates a comprehensive log file with embedded graphical snapshots for each sample, exportable in rich text file format and viewable in a dedicated window. The software runs as a standalone application for OSX 10.3.9 or later, and is optimized for both PowerPC and Intel Mac computers.
While there are some limitations to note, such as only the middle octave C note being sampled, samples being truncated at 1.5 seconds, and samples being saved in 16-bit format only, AutoSampler is an impressive software that delivers quality sampling of hardware and virtual synths. The recent release of a universal binary optimized for Power PC and Intel Mac computers only adds to its appeal.
