BG1Tutu Assistant is a graphical frontend designed for BG1Tutu, providing a user-friendly interface for users to interact with the software.
BG1Tutu Assistant is the macintosh port of PC utility with the same name. With this software, you can play the entire BG saga with one character, including a kit-based character that starts at level one. You can play in higher resolutions that are not officially supported, and level limits are removed for BG/ToSC, giving you access to the full spell book. The software also includes kitted NPCs for BG1/ToSC, and takes advantage of the stability of BG2's engine relative to the original BG1 and ToSC. Additionally, it allows you to play BG1 natively on OS X.
The latest version of the software includes several bug fixes in the frontend and performs modifications on the Chitin.key relating to relative paths. If you've successfully run BG1Tutu and then experienced a crash on startup when running BG2, this new version should fix the issue. It also includes a bug fix that crops up when BG or BG2 are located on the boot volume of OS X.
To use the BG1Tutu Assistant utility, you will need to have an installation of Baldur's Gate and an installation of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. With these requirements met, you can use the software to convert your existing installation of Baldur's Gate or Tales of the Sword Coast into an installation of BG2 and start playing the game with updated graphics and enhanced features.
