Color Theory Pro is a digital tool that presents a color wheel based on the RYB model, ideal for professionals and enthusiasts who want to select the best color palettes for their projects.
The tool uses a color model that has its foundation on the traditional artist's color wheel, thus ensuring accurate color optimization. The Theory Pro package comes as a stand-alone application bundled with advanced features such as monitor mirroring and image loading. It also comes with a plugin set that works with popular software packages.
One of the features of Color Theory Pro is the added functionality for image loading, which lets users import any still image file format supported by Quicktime. The formats supported include PICT, TIFF, Photoshop, JPEG, GIF, SGI, BMP, PNG, MacPaint, TGA, SWF, and QuickTime Image. This makes it simple to work directly within the interface to fine-tune an image, such as a logo.
Additionally, the software ships with a plugin set for popular design tools, like Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. Through the host app's Filter menu, apply Color Theory directly to a layer in Photoshop or After Effects. As a result, users can seamlessly work with Color Theory inside the host software.
Color Theory Pro requires optional host applications (After Effects 5.5–CS3, Photoshop 5.5–CS3). Finally, the product has a 10-day trial but comes with restrictions.
