This software acts as an aggregator to keep you informed of the latest updates on your preferred news sites and weblogs.
One of the things that make endo different from other aggregators is its approach to feed reading. As your subscription list continues to increase, it becomes harder to manage. Endo comes in handy in such situations. It facilitates grouping subscriptions and allows you to create smart groups using rules that can be as simple or as complicated as you want. You can quickly navigate between groups using the groups bar or configurable keyboard shortcuts. You can rearrange groups and easily drag subscriptions.
Endo is customizable to suit your preferences. It allows you to see the groups and articles the way you like it best, whether as a flat list or hierarchically, with summaries or without, with tags or without, groups as icons or as text. Navigation between groups and articles is also a breeze. You don't even have to touch your mouse once.
If you want to quickly filter through articles, you can use the quick filter in the article list or the Spotlight feature. You can search and use Spotlight with the Finder or from within endo. With endo, metadata stored in Spotlight for endo articles include keywords (tags), authors, and URL, ensuring nothing gets lost in the process.
To make sure you keep organized, endo employs a helper application called endoBot, which runs as a menu bar utility for downloading files and seeding torrents in the background. This feature comes in handy, especially when downloading large files that would otherwise take too long to download.
Endo allows you to flag, blog, or bookmark articles that you have found interesting. You can either flag for permanent storage, send to your blog client, or bookmark on del.icio.us. The del.icio.us bookmarker comes with extended descriptions, tags, and date stamps, along with a summary of the article's contents.
Endo's flexibility and power can be extended using plugins. These plugins can do a little, such as creating a subscription, or as much as providing the actual feed. Endo comes with four built-in plugins, which include plugins to create del.icio.us, Flickr, and Technorati subscriptions. There is also a plugin that runs your scripts, which should generate feeds.
Lastly, registered users can sync and use endo's Attention.XML format to access their subscription list and synced read status of downloaded articles on other Macs, either via their .Mac account or through endo's server. Overall, Endo is an excellent aggregator tool that comes in handy, whether for personal or professional use.
