A software that displays recently used and favorite folders in open/save dialog windows and Windows Explorer, allowing users to create aliases for folders in the favorite list, show original folder icons, and open programs via a system tray icon.
The latest version, v2.6, provides users with a number of exciting new features. For instance, users can now create aliases for folders in the Favorite List. This eliminates the need to remember long paths and allows for shorter, more convenient names to be used. Folder Cache also lets you choose whether or not to display original folder icons in the folders list, which can speed up program operation when disabled.
In addition, the software can be launched through the system tray icon via left or right mouse clicks. Double clicking on the icon will bring up the "Options" window, where users can customize various settings related to the program. Lastly, minor bugs have been fixed, ensuring a smoother and more reliable performance.
One particularly interesting feature of Folder Cache is the offer of a FREE registration key. To qualify for this, users can simply translate the language interface into their own native language or update the older language files to the newer Folder Cache 2.x version. To do this, users can use the english.lng file and replace each of the English phrases with their language's equivalent. Users must then rename the file to the name of their language and send it to the developers for review. This provides an excellent opportunity to not only obtain a registration key for free, but also to contribute to the software's development by improving its multilingual capabilities.
