Firefox add-on for blocking irrelevant ads and improving browsing experience by eliminating distractions.
Foof was inspired by Adblocker and Adblock Plus, the popular Firefox extensions. Installing the foof add-on is easy, and once installed, you can select the content options you want. Foof will then get to work and eliminate most ads from your web pages. You can optionally choose to replace all or some of the ads with relevant content.
The content options available include YouTube videos, news, blog posts, Wikipedia articles, Flickr images, or no content at all. Foof removes all four ads and replaces the banner ad with news that is relevant to the web page you're on. Additionally, it replaces another ad with a YouTube video that is also relevant to that page.
To use foof, all you need is Firefox 1.5 or later. Once installed and configured, you can surf the web knowing that the ads you see are either relevant to the content you're browsing or completely blocked out.
