GraphPad InStat simplifies statistical analysis by guiding users through the process.
What makes InStat different from other statistics software is that it doesn't assume that you are a statistics whiz. The program helps you pick an appropriate test by asking questions about your data. You don't have to know the name of the test you need. And if you're unsure, the extensive help screens explain the statistical reasoning in plain language.
InStat also presents results in simple paragraphs, with a minimum of statistical jargon. The help screens review the use of each test and explain every portion of the results. This means that you won't get the right answer to the wrong question, as InStat provides a unique analysis checklist. You can double-check that your data have not violated any assumptions of the test, and that you've picked a test that matches your experimental design and really answers the question you had in mind.
GraphPad InStat offers several key features that include column statistics, group comparisons, contingency tables, linear regression and correlation, and multiple regression and correlation. The program allows up to 1000 rows and 26 columns of data. You can mathematically transform selected data (i.e., log, reciprocal, logit, etc.), transpose rows and columns, and copy results or data to the clipboard or export as a text file. GraphPad InStat is also able to export graphs as PICT (Mac) files or Windows Metafile (.WMF) or to print graphs on any type of printer. You can annotate your data and analyses using a built-in notes editor, and InStat files contain analysis choices as well as data so you can quickly rerun the same test with new data. You can even combine two columns (add, subtract, multiply, divide) to create a new column.
Importing comma or tab-delimited files onto the software is also easy. You can import indexed (stacked) data, entire tables, or selected rows and columns and filter selected data. Additionally, you can export the data table as a text table or as an indexed (stacked) file. InStat also allows you to exclude selected values. They appear on the data table but are treated as missing values by the analyses.
InStat's only limitation is the 30-day trial period, but given the program's features and user-friendly interface, it might be a solution to your statistical needs.
