Hebcal is an application that provides a perpetual Jewish calendar for users. It offers a comprehensive and accurate calendar system for the Jewish community, including all dates of Jewish holidays, Hebrew and Gregorian date conversions, and customizable features to fit individual needs.
One thing I appreciated about Hebcal was its convenience routines. These routines made it easy to use the application and were especially helpful for customizing the calendar output to fit my specific needs.
Another notable aspect of Hebcal is that it is written in C, with its key routines being translations of Dershowitz & Reingold's lisp code in GNU-Emacs 18. While Hebcal has been successfully ported to Perl, C, and Javascript in the past, at this time only the C implementation is being maintained. However, Java may become the next supported platform in the future.
Overall, I found Hebcal to be a well-designed and user-friendly application that performs its intended functions efficiently. If you're in need of a reliable Jewish calendar generator, Hebcal is definitely worth considering.
