This plugin for Adobe InDesign/InCopy allows tracking of previous actions related to document editing, saving time and increasing efficiency.
This plug-in brings the same useful panel found in Photoshop to InDesign, with added and improved features. Not only can you see all available redo and undo steps, but now you can save different versions within a single document. Regardless of how much you change your documents, you can always return to any state at any time.
History keeps track of your past actions in your InDesign documents, displaying them in a list. This allows for an easy way to orient yourself and save multiple versions. With the History 2.0 plug-in installed, you no longer have to worry about accidentally deleting an important part of your document, as you can easily revert to the state when the version was saved.
Every time you save a version, History saves the current state into the document, allowing for easy access to previous versions. A Version that will open in a new window is marked with the green shortcut/alias symbol. Otherwise, versions work as normal undo, with the advantage of a thumbnail image and description to simplify orientation.
Some key features of "History for Adobe InDesign InCopy" are that it saves time on undoing and redoing changes, goes beyond the current session, and tracks the past actions of your work on InDesign documents. It shows all states you can revert to in a list, allowing you to undo many changes with a single click. It also uses original InDesign icons for actions to make the search for the actions to be undone faster and more convenient.
To use this plug-in, you will need Adobe InDesign CS, CS2, or CS3. There is a 14-day trial available for those who want to try it out. Overall, the DTP Tools History plug-in is a powerful and useful tool that can make your workflow more efficient and organized.
