iCal Aid is an AppleScript Studio tool designed to perform a specific task efficiently.
Furthermore, iCal doesn't offer recurring task support, which forces users to enter tasks in Entourage as calendar events. However, iCalAid provides an intuitive interface that makes it easy to float iCal's window above Entourage 2001 running in Classic mode. Thus users can read and enter tasks and/or calendar lists that can be sent to iCal.
The latest version of iCalAid comes with new features that enhance its functionality. For instance, it provides a new command under the file menu that reopens the application window if it gets inadvertently closed. Additionally, a services menu has been added, which contains commands that allow users to obtain information about a web page or file to be associated with an event or task.
Moreover, iCalAid provides a diary entry feature that enables users to add entries to iCal calendars that are not necessarily events or tasks. Other commands under services include Get iTunes Track Info, which inserts information about the currently playing iTunes track into the event window. With the insert temperature feature, users can add the current temperature for a zip code into an event. Finally, iCalAid allows users to insert delayed stock quotes into iCal calendars.
The latest version of iCalAid also includes a refresh button that allows the reloading of editable calendars if one is created or deleted while iCalAid is running. Start times and end times now utilize 24-hour times to allow International usage, making it even more user friendly for a broader audience. Overall, iCalAid significantly enhances the functionality of iCal, making it a must-have software tool for users who depend on scheduling and calendar events.
