This free software facilitates scheduling and automated sending of emails.
Here's how it works: the event name becomes the subject of the email, location is attached as a file, attendees are recipients, notes become the message text, and the URL field specifies the sender email. It's almost too easy!
But wait, there's more! No need to click the "Send" button; doing so will initiate iCal's normal invitation system. And when you're finished, simply close the event pane by clicking outside of it or pressing "esc".
For the best results, set the alarm to open the "iCalMail" app "0 minutes before" the event, and schedule events at least 5 minutes apart. When adding attachments, make sure to state the path in the format "/Volumes/Volume Name/Folder Name/File Name" (without quotes).
One caveat: due to a workaround needed for Leopard, you may receive the email being sent as well. Overall, iCalMail is a convenient and time-saving tool for those looking to automate their email reminders.
