The Inspector tool is where you can view various properties about an item, including its current icon. To set a new icon for a folder, follow these straightforward steps: first, select a file or folder with the desired icon. Then, press Command-Option-I to bring up the Inspector panel. Once the panel is open, click on the icon in question to highlight it. You should see a border around the icon indicating that it has been selected.
Next, press Command-C to copy the icon. Do not close the Inspector panel, as it will be needed for the next step.
