InTime software syncs backing tracks to live tempo and records tempo maps for studio use.
With InTime, you begin by picking a starting tempo, and it starts ticking away. But, as you play, InTime follows your sense of where the beat is. If you speed up, InTime speeds up, and if you slow down, InTime slows down. InTime allows you to play with a groove or use full-on rubato, giving you complete control over your tempo.
One of the best features of InTime is that it can record a tempo map to use in the studio or synchronize backing tracks to your tempo in a live performance. It's also flexible as it doesn't need to know ahead of time what you intend to play. Even if you improvise, InTime accurately senses where the beat is.
Another great benefit of InTime is its ability to increase the accuracy of notation software. You can make accurate transcriptions of your performance, even as you change tempo or play with a groove. Simply save your performance as a MIDI file and import it into your favorite notation package.
InTime can interface with virtually any MIDI software or outboard MIDI device. You can control the tempo of sequencers and drum machines in real-time, or import tempo maps into sequencing software to flexibly synchronize MIDI or audio parts.
The only downside to InTime is that it comes with a 30-day or 60-launches trial. However, considering its powerful features, it is definitely worth giving it a try!
