iPod Tracks 2 Desktop software enables you to selectively transfer tracks from iTunes to your desktop with ease.
With "iPod tracks Choose" installed in iTunes script menu, users can copy the tracks selected in iTunes and choose the folder in which they want to store it. So, if you want to copy selected tracks to a specific folder on your desktop, go for "iPod tracks Choose."
The "iPod tracks -> Desktop" script is incredibly handy as it can copy the selected tracks in iTunes (not Playlists) off your iPod and onto the Desktop seamlessly. The user will be prompted if a file with the same name already exists in the destination. The script has been saved run-only because it involves a small hack. Sorry about that.
The "iPod tracks -> Choose..." script will perform the same actions as the previous one, but you can select the folder where you want to copy the tracks.
The "iPod tracks -> encode" script will convert the iPod selected track(s) according to the current iTunes conversion preferences and add them to the main library.
The script "iPod tracks -> iTunes Library" will add the iPod selected track(s) to iTunes main library and to the library named according to iPod's name.
To set up preferences for the scripts listed above, "iPod tracks (Prefs)" script is available on the iTunes script menu.
If you want to copy the entire iPod library to the desktop regardless of its internal organization in subfolders, "Whole iPod Library -> Desktop" script will be helpful. Keep in mind though that the copy could take a long time, and you can stop it with the usual Command-. keystroke.
To use "iPod tracks 2 Desktop," you need a minimum requirement of an iPod with Firmware1.3 or newer and iTunes 4 or newer. So, give it a try, and you won't regret it.
