Track your clipboard's history easily with our software, enabling you to quickly retrieve recently copied content.
One of the standout features of Jumpcut is its intuitive interface. The application is designed to be simple and easy to use. To get started, all you need to do is download the software and drag the application (which boasts a pretty scissors icon) to your Applications directory. Then, you can launch Jumpcut and find a scissors icon in your menu bar.
Once it's open, any text item you cut or copy will be added to Jumpcut's "stack" of clippings. There are two main ways to access these clippings: either under the menu bar, or by selecting a clipping from the Jumpcut menu via a pop-up bezel. In the latter case, you'll need to press a hotkey (defaulting to Control-Option-V) to activate Jumpcut's bezel.
From here, a small window will appear, similar to what you might see when using the application switcher or brightness controls. While holding the modifier keys, you can scroll through the stack using the arrow keys. When you've found the clipping you're looking for, Jumpcut will put it on the pasteboard and try to paste it into your application by mimicking the Command-V keystroke.
However, in cases where applications may not use Command-V for pasting, Jumpcut does have a preference to disable the "paste" action for clippings selected from the menu bar. Either way, you can move up and down the stack using various keyboard keys, or quickly scroll using Page Up/Page Down.
If you decide you don't want to paste a particular clipboard item after all, simply hit escape to make the bezel vanish. There's even a "sticky bezel" preference if you don't want it to disappear so easily. Another useful feature is that Jumpcut remembers your most recently selected clipping, so you don't have to search for it again next time you use the bezel.
All in all, Jumpcut is an excellent application for managing your clipboard history with ease and simplicity.
